NOTE: Down filled products like this Down Comforter winter fill are packed tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove them from their packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours to recover their full loft. In addition, being sealed in plastic packaging sometimes causes the scent of these natural products to concentrate to a disagreeable level. A few hours of airing usually removes the odor. We also recommend to wrap the down comforter "duvet insert" in your favorite cover for added protection and style.

I did your research for you

I pulled the trigger on one of these last spring & I've been using it for the past six months. I looked off and on for quite some time before deciding on this one, checking various ebay sellers and other sites, I've used a real $2000 comforter, and I wanted to get as close as possible to that level of quality. I knew that it wouldn't be possible to get all the way there, but I also knew that there are plenty of options out there for buyers who want to throw a couple of hundred dollars out the window. So I took my time.

The build quality of this one is very, very good. Big, fluffy, and cozy, it enhances the atmosphere of my bedroom. It's quite heavy, and a genuine baffle box. It molts a little, but not excessively, probably not much more than far more expensive comforters. The silk/cotton shell feels crisp & soft-- I went with damask stripes and it looks terrific. For some reason, this company doesn't include photos of the duvet straps in the item page image portfolio, which is odd considering that their lack of presence is a dealbreaker for many buyers. If you need 'em, don't despair; this comforter has 'em.

This heavyweight down comforter is surprisingly versatile; I used it this summer on cooler nights (I live in a coastal community on a midcoast Maine peninsula). In cold weather I like a cool bedroom; I keep the temp at about 62 and this comforter is a dream with a Hudson's Bay blanket...maybe two if the winter wind is really howling, I'm not sure, I bought it last May and it's only late October-- it hasn't been that cold yet.

All in all, this comforter is a gem. I'd be very surprised if you can do better for about $350. In the daytime it looks wonderful. Every night, I look forward to a nice evening shower and then climbing into bed underneath it. If you're engaged in the same intensive research process I engaged in before buying a lower-cost comforter, I think you can safely cut it short. If you like it as much as I do, thanks aren't necessary. Maybe you can get me a cup of coffee sometime.

I cannot understand how you got that comforter in that bag. Tried to get in back in that plastic bag— to store it until I wanted to use it—impossible.

Best Down comforter yet..!

I had originally bought a cheaper 'all seasons' down comforter at Amazon, and ending up returning it - not that it was a bad comforter for the money, but certainly not for cold 'northeast' winters. I then read the reviews for this Siberian Goose Down Comforter and took the plunge - I have not been disappointed. It is truly warm, and worth the $360 price tag - just remember to do one important thing out of the box: either put it in the dryer on 'fluff' or leave it out on the bed for a few days to let the down settle - you will notice a vast difference. Many people freak when they see this comforter delivered 'flat' right out of the box, assuming that it can't be warm - just let it fluff and you'll warm up in no time!
